Basic Property Adjusting Course

This five (5) day course is designed for the new property adjuster entering the profession. Our Basic course is unique compared to the industry as we teach our Basic course with Xactimate at the same time. This is a tremendous advantage to the aspiring adjuster as well as a very significant savings when compared to other training centers that do not include Xactimate in their basic classes but rather charge extra for the Xactimate training we include at no additional cost.
Students are taught to the equivalency of Xactware’s I & II level of certification.
Upon completion of this course students will understand what is required of them in order for deployment to major weather catastrophes anywhere in the United States.

Basic Property Adjusting Course Details
Prerequisites
Desire to learn a new profession
State Adjusting license and experience not required
Licensing is not required for the class but is strongly encouraged to be considered for work through Amcat. Licensing course can be taken either before or after the Basic course
Able to climb a one-story roof
Learning Objectives
Approximately 60 hours of training in a 5 day period
Insurance terms, definitions and principles
Construction techniques, building material and calculation of roof measurements
Learn the correct techniques for taking photographs
Prepare a loss estimates & narrative reports
Receive & transmit a claim electronically

Rebate Details
The Amcat Education Center is offering a 50% Rebate for all students who attend Basic Adjusting classes scheduled after September 1, 2011 . In order to obtain the rebate the student must: (1) pass the class, (2) deploy for current events through Amcat (3) successfully complete a minimum of 50 files within one year of completion of the Basic training (4) meet or exceed the requirements of the disclaimer section below. Note: Deployments are not guaranteed by taking any Amcat Course.

Drug Test
A drug test is included in your tuition fee.
Adjusters must take and pass a drug test before Amcat offers a contract.

Class begins at 8AM. End time is based on the individual's ability to finish class assignments and exercises.

We are conveniently located one exit east from the North Entrance to the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW).
Park in the parking lot designated below. You will have to walk to the Amcat Education Center from the parking lot. Do not park behind the Education Center or in front of it. You can enter the parking lot by going north on Sterling from Royal and taking your first left to the parking lot area.

The Amcat rate is $48.00. You MUST call in advance and ask for the Amcat rate. Call the hotel directly at 972-929-5757, and tell the Guest Services Agent that you are with Amcat to receive the special rate. This hotel offers shuttle service to DFW Airport, area businesses and to Amcat's Education Center.
If you plan to come in an RV we suggest The Vineyards Campground in Grapevine, TX. Grapevine is about 15 minutes from our location.
Amcat Contract
Upon successful completion of this course and drug test results, an Amcat contract may be offered.
Disclaimer
The catastrophe adjusting industry is dependent upon weather events that damage resident ad commercial properties. This translates to seasonal, inconsistent work and a potential for abnormal work hours as necessary to produce a finished claim report. Our goal, at the Amcat Education Center, is to deliver honest and accurate training for the “real world” adjuster. We are committed to the success of the Independent Adjuster and Amcat’s Operations.
We will conduct classes in a professional manner. Please help us provide an environment that is conducive to learning and concentration.
Students who successfully complete an Amcat Training class will receive a Certificate of Completion and score that are highly regarded in the industry as demonstration of their competency and proficiency relating to the course curriculum.
The successful completion of an Amcat Training class in no way implies or guarantees that the graduate will automatically receive an Amcat Independent Contractor Agreement (IA Contract) and a position on the Amcat Adjuster Roster. Selected individuals MAY receive an invitation to join Amcat based upon their cumulative evaluation.
Amcat holds the right to objectively and subjectively evaluate a student. Evaluation parameters include but are not limited to: Software knowledge, character and professionalism, and coursework averages.
Largely mandated by our clients, Amcat has strict requirements relating to criminal background checks. This criterion does not prohibit participation in classes or receipt of the Amcat Certificate of Completion. While opportunity with Amcat may be limited by this principle, the same contracting values for background checks will vary from firm to firm and may afford the student opportunities with other Adjusting companies.
Refund Policy
Tuition may be refunded up to 7 days before the beginning of a class and upon return of all class material. If an adjuster is unable to attend a selected AMCAT course, they may within one year, reschedule the course or select a different course with the same tuition. Amcat may cancel any training at any time; reasons for canceling training would include: lack of attendees, weather and instructor availability or any other circumstance beyond our control. As best practices, Amcat will try to communicate a cancelled course on our website, by e-mailing the student or by phone prior to the course beginning.
